Hi Brent. Thanks for your comment. These Footnote amps run on a 9V transformer (came with the amp). Yes, it has a slight hum, but knob settings can overcome most of it. It is not set up to run on batteries, though there is a "battery" stamp on an unused spot on the printed circuit board. Comments made by prior users lean towards this amp being too power-hungry to get any decent battery life, so I'm stickin' with the 120V wall outlet. Either that or lug around a car battery!

This looks way cool. Do you get much of a hum with the amp when plugged into an power supply vs. batteries?
