  •  Hi , Clint . Nice build !     I use tension pins myself often .  Try filing the tension pins down where the string hits them ,coming out , on the inside of the pin . there's a sharp edge there .  I've also used a knife to dull these down .   I currently put these in at a angle , with the top of the pin pointing slightly toward the head of the guitar .  They seem to work fine then .

  • Should be okay like that Gus.  If not, put a screw or something across the tail piece an inch or so up.

  • Yeah, there are 1/8 by 3/4 tension pins from Menards in there...it was an experiment. Only problem is that it bends the strings at a pretty severe angle because they're so far from the bridge. Have to refine that idea for the next one. Or get used to popping strings a lot, I guess.

  • Very pleasing,  bone bottom to flame top.  I'll take a sip of that bourbon too.  One thing, is there metal to keep the strings from gouging into the tail piece?

  • Thanx! The photo makes the wood color look a little more striking than it is in person...I just used some wood stain on it, and I think it mellowed overnight. Still my favorite build so far.

  • Perfect Combo! Beautiful git!
