  • Being my first attempt, I will take all of the luck I can get. I have read that a scarf joint is actually stronger than a solid piece, I have yet to understand why. With the little research that I have done, I believe there are a couple of ways to glue a scarf joint. I chose this method because it is the way the majority of my factory built guitars are done, and I like the fact that the seam is hidden by the fretboard.
  • My apologies, as I looked further amongst the pick I saw the pic, close up, of the joint. I also read that this is your first in this manner. I hope that this works well for you, like I said , it looks intrigueing, Good luck

  • Thanks for responding, I have one build under my belt but am intrigued by the way you do the head to the neck. Don't you worry that the string tension might compromise that joint? I know I am not seeing the entire attatchment method, perhaps you might elaborate a bit.

  • I used a 15 degree scarf joint.
  • What kind of notch or cut is that you use on the neck to head connection?
