Thanks Mike! Didn't answer your first comment on the finish, Sorry. Yes Sir I scrub the plate with hot soapy water and let it dry real good first then seal with satin clear coat. The plates were longer than they are these days, they were this size from around 1910 to the late 1930's.

Thanks Randy, this wood actually came outta Grannies barn :-) It came from an old barn on the homestead where my Grandmother was born.
