Soda Bottle Banjo Top

Thanks to Jim Morris for the video on how to do this. (flatten out plastic, staple, use heat gun to tighten up the top.)The neck to this one was used on a couple of builds. Until today it was a cigar box and tuned High G, DGB - banjo style.I built a fairly strong box and did the soda bottle (2 Liter 7 Up) thing. It has much louder and better banjo tone than it did with the cigar box.

    Thanks Uncle, i've got to try that. Sounds like a natural for a kid's workshop or such. The frame looks sturdy and easy to make.

    Sure, Dave.   Jim Morris has a video that tells in depth, but all i did was cut a 2L 7UP bottle to rough fit.  Staple on.  Apply heat with heat gun and the plastic tightens up nicely.   Mine really sounds good too.  

    I think Jim has used the plastic off store bought sheet cake tops too.

    Gary, it sounds great.   I wish I would have had just a bit wider piece of plastic than the 2Liter 7Up bottle.  If it gives me troubles, I will repace it with a plastic cake cover.
