Thanks. The tailpiece ended up being a bit of a compromise. I actually wanted something smaller, and was looking at the bail-style drawer handles, but they were all raised up quite a bit. I'm sure I could find smaller handles like this, but after seeing how this was constructed, I'm not sure I'd trust anything smaller.
