I realize this project is a ways back, but I'm hoping you're still reading here... I'm building a CBB with a headstock that bears some similarities to this (and yes, the rasp has been my principal tool, too!).
It looks as though you joined the headstock to the end of the neck (at a 45 degree angle). How do you acheive strength for the headstock - I'm under the impression bass strings create significant tension. How do you keep it from snapping off? Did you use some kind of dowel pin arrangment?
