This CBG is a 17" Ukulele Scale that was built using C.B. Gitty’s plexiglass stencil. The box is a El Baton Classico that was painted black. I sanded it down and stained it with a walnut stain. The neck is Poplar and the fretboard is Mahogany. I took a propane torch to the neck, fretboard and box. This brings out the grain and gives it a more aged look. After burning, I sanded it down to where I wanted it. I used Tru-oil to seal it. I also installed a Piezo rod pre-amp and a Barrelhouse style Tailpiece. I used some leftover mahogany from the fretboard to make the bridge (and I torched and sealed it too) and the nut was hand made from a synthetic bone. The strings are the C.B. Gitty “Hobo Fiddle” nylon string pack (.028, .041 and .033). This Cigar Box Guitar is tuned to an open G (Gdg). The frets (med/med), fretboard, strings, tailpiece, and box corners all came from C.B. Gitty.
