Hello all.
What is the thickest material you all have ever seen/used for a custom box.
I understand thinner is better sounding (to a point. You don't want a veneer box...:) ), and thinner is obviously lighter.
But would, say, a 1/2" thick box work?

I was thinking, could they be durable enough - with plywood and board reinforcements on the top- that I could turn one into a router table?

I have quite a few hardwood boards I inherited from my grandfather that are still in great shape, so I'd be tempted to do so.
