I've been carrying a smokey amp around for at least the last 10 years now. Always in my gig bag. I had my Randall head get toasted one night because of bad beer bottle placement and used it to drive a 4x12 cabinet until my wife could run for my extra head. Just turned the channel my amp mike was on up and the show went on. Not sure if I'm ready to retire it to a CBG yet but that's a great idea.
I do have to say that's it's a pleasure to meet the man that can put so much percussion into a small package. Your footdrums are a engineering masterpiece. Hope to own one someday.
While there may be other Foot Drummers out there, I do happen to be the only one named Pete Farmer (I think). You have some nice work there on the CBG. I made one (see my About page) with an internal smokey amp and speaker (one of the metal dobro sound holes) combo. It is pretty sweet to get some feedback when you turn it up. The REAL cool part is when you plug it into a huge speaker cabinet, the low watt amp just growls through it at a decent volume. Worth a try if you ever see one for sale (keep it in the tobacco family I say!)
Welcome aboard, Pete! You will find lots of helpful folks and information here on all things CBG (CBU, CBB, etc.) Feel free to poke around, ask questions, and post your stuff (photos, recordings, videos, etc.).
