Hey Daniela, Good luck on your marriage. I hope he is a great guy, yall will get married and live a long happy life together. I have been married for thirty years to a very good man. He is very good to me. I wish the same for you.
It seems you got off to a real good start in building. I like the tree branch idea for the neck, very rustic. The tin sounds very pretty. I am working on a heart shaped tin with gold and red and a vintage photo on the front. It is a very good start to have the ideas of how you want to build your CBG. I have some ideas of how I want to build three other CBGs. I need to finish with the first build. I have received alot of great advice and encouragement from different ones on this site. If it wasn't for them, I wouldn't have a clue how to get started on a build. I am gong to save some money to buy me a scroll saw to cut the necks. Now, I have to use a wood rasp, and boy does that really give you a work out.
It is hard to find the small wood bits, so I have to use the regular bits to drill holes in the neck. I bought me 4 extra clamps for the gluing process. I was told by Diane in Chicago use plenty of clamps.
I haven't worked on drilling my holes for the fret markers yet because it has been too cold to work outside where I have my drill. I need to cut my slots for the fret wire which I am using close hangers wire.
Are you up tonight working on one of your projects? I wake up alot at night and can't go back to sleep, so I get up, but I have to be quiet because my husband is sleeping.
Keep building and have fun. Can't wait to see photos of them.
Welcome aboard, Daniela! You will find lots of helpful folks and information here on all things CBG (CBB, CBU, etc.) Feel free to poke around, ask questions, and post your stuff (photos, recordings, videos, etc.).
