if you guys can have one cajun in here then why not have two, the bairfoot cajun wanted to say something but could not unless he was a member so here i are and hope you dont mind me joining the brit club, i think brian is an english name anyway ha ha ha. it means [salt] i think. stradivarious used to soak the wood of his violins/fiddles in brine water, it makes the wood more brittle for resonance. i have used salt water on some of my builds and it really does make a difference in the tonewoods. try it sometimes, you will see what i mean. i put about ten or so tablespoons of salt on a bowl of warm water and use a cotton cloth and wipe the wood with a pretty good saturated pass over the entire piece, blow dry with hairdryer and repeat the process several times and let cure for about two weeks then use that same process again untill i can tell it has results,[use a tap mallet to test the wood for a difference in the tone.] it really does make a difference in solid wood builds, especially if the wood you start with is semi-green. it helps to cure the wood faster.

No, boxing day is the after we took a break from cigar box guitars and get back to having fun. Actually it was when the tradesmen went around to the big posh houses with their boxes to get their tips. In those days they would have still been working on Christmas day.

Hope all y'alls Christmas, Boxing Day and New Years Day went well and was safe for one and all. AND isn't Boxing Day when servants and Masters changed places for a day?

Thanks Darren. I'm impressed - not many Americans know what Boxing Day is!

I'm an American living in Gering, Nebraska and would like to welcome y'all to the CBG Nation and Happy Boxing Day to all! ;)

Yeah I guessed so, the clue was in your 'handle'. You are welcome to visit the inmates whenever you like. Be sure to bring a cake with a file hidden in it so we can break out of the dungeon.
