Hello all
I am after some brass eyelets for sound holes, no problem finding them in the 0.5 - 0.75 inch sort of range.
I am trying to find some in the 1.5 - 2.0 inch range, but not really having any luck.
Where do you folks get yours?
Thanks in advance.
Alex

The curtain department at a local shop had some plastic ones which work a treat. Thanks to all for the advice.
Also I have just finished a CBG and used sink strainers which I really like.

I looked at sink strainers then I found little loose tea holders that come on a chain. They are two halves of a ball that clip togerther that you put loose tea in and dunk them into the cup. There's a wire mesh that stops the leaves going into the cup but they split in half to form two one inch cup things. I used them on my first build and are just excellent for size and stuff. You can check out the pictures, it's in my profile somewhere. I got them out of my flatmates kitchen drawer she said she on them in a christmas cracker :) but they worked so good I bought two on ebay for late use.
Sink strainers sounds good Alex. Have you got any pictures?

Denis, I will try and sort outa photo soon, I am so happy with the finished guitar, they work great.

Hope you don't mind me hijacking your thread. My second and latest build has a sink strainer sound hole. Unfortunately the box I used wasn't big enough to use two so it's asymetrical. Maybe I'll add some sort of pickguard to hide the carelessly removed "SMOKING KILLS" label and balance up the appearance a little.
I've also been looking for big eyelets so the Dunelm suggestion looks good. Thanks!

I love that little box 'offcut' in the background :)
Stuart, no problem with the hi-jack. Nice guitar.
What have you used for the tail stock to anchor the strings?
Alex
Hi Alex,
The strings are anchored with a somewhat modified brass picture hook - the old type that hang on picture rails. I felt a bit guilty about cutting it up as it was probably quite old but it was perfect for the job. My other guitar uses a brass hinge, also pretty heavily modified.

These look pretty cool too - only 99p. Just ordered some on the "I never know what I might want" basis!!
