23 inch solid body Tenor Guitar #165

Howdy folks.... I have returned to CBN.

I would like to show you one of my recent builds, a 4 string solid body electric Tenor Guitar.

The body is made of recovered American Chestnut from a 17th Century Danish Barn in the Hudson river region of New York. The neck is hand carved from my increasingly popular Florida cypress.

It has a Victory Goldfoil pickup, 500k Volume & Tone pots and a beefy .100 capacitor from a mid 1970's Gibson Bass. You can hear it on this video.

  • wow Greg that turned out great !!!

a couple little 'violin notches' is one of my secret tricks when I'm not sure what to do with a plank, always comes out cool ;) nice one

  • I'm using GDAD tuning, Alternate GDAE Mandola tuning.

The tuning is more familiar to me since I don't play regular guitar (DGBE) as well.

  • Very nice job. What tuning are you using? I'm using open A on mine
