Especially if it won't turn off...
Am still moving forward with my first (and then second) 2x4/2x6 steel builds, but now am thinking about stretching a 2x6 to a baritone steel.
I need help with design parameters and math. I guess scale length should be about 29-30 inches, but what about the butt and tailpiece? Just use the 2x4 dimensions, and stretch the scale?

Really, the only thing that’s changing is you’re adding 5-6” to its total length. So you’ll just move the measurements for the tailpiece back , however many inches you’ve added to the scale length? What program/site are you using for your fret template? Happy building!
So what I hear you say is that Butt to bridge/saddle stays the same, nut to headstock stays the same, and the scale length increases by 'X' (from the 23" scale to the 29.5/30 inch scale), is that correct?
Not sure which calculator, but I know about them and have looked at a couple.
The sound I'm looking for is David Gilmore on Sorrow (I know, it's not a steel), One Of These Days, etc. low, distorted as hell, and with feedback (if I can).
Yep. That’s it. Just add 5-6” to the space between the nut and the bridge.
