First steps

After coming from years of punk rock power chord banging, I am enjoying the challenge of learning finger-picking slide with my 3 string fretless CBG! The scales, alternating bass picking, and coordination is definitely less easy than it would seem, but is getting better with practice and a metronome! I look forward to following the rest of the lessons!

    the 151 tuning is a power chord, so if you get bored picking you can go back to punk rock with the cbg!

      Yeah, I do, but punk's much more fun loud and nasty, SG and 100 tube watts, the CBG's more fun clean and twangy. Anyhoo, I AM rearranging a few songs for the CBG, Fang's "The Money Will Roll Right In" and The Stooges "Now I Wanna Be Your Dog", which sound nice finger picking with the slide. Once my playin and singin don't lead to embarrassment, I'll record some stuff and put on my profile.
