I'm suprized at the lack of activity in here. I thought this would be one of the busiest groups. So anyway, my latest build is from wood saved from the trash trucks grip. Over 100 yr old black walnut. It cleaned up real nice I think.

WOW that's nice..
Damn GOURGEOUS Black Walnut! YOUSER! Sw-EE--Ttttttt! How do you know that old?? Count the rings??....Seriously..!

Turns out I knew the guy doing the work on the house and he told me it was some original wood from the house that was over 100.

Hey Bluesheart, whatcha use for the nut and bridge there? Granite? Corian that looks like granite?
Hmm, granite. Gives me an idea........

Ha, and I was complaining about lack of activity in here! Sorry Mark, the nut and bridge are corian.

Only took me 6 years to respond. I guess I'll stop complaining now. Thank you for your interest.

Beautiful piece B!
That's gorgeous...who throws out black walnut? Nice design, do you still have it and how's it play? K

Yep I still have it. Plays well, but tricky since no position markers. The weed wacker strings hold tuning solid for like forever. has a mellow warm tone, not real loud but that is ok.

Faaaaaantastic!!   I really like the clean lines.  Simple but elegant.  Great job.
