Hi Jim, On the lower headstock I have a small strip of leather nailed to it. I can then slide my pick between the leather and the headstock and keep the pick in place. (I always seem to lose my picks and this helps.)

The necks are tuned as follows:
Short neck - G D G
Long neck - D A D
Go ahead & use the pick holder all you want - no problem!!!
