Is it appropriate on a 4 string CBG to use the general same sort of string spacing at nut & saddle as on a regular acoustic? My dad & I are about to build my first multi-stringed CBG and I was thinking I'd base the string spacing on my Larivee D-19 (which I dearly love). The scale of what we're making will be 25" (bought a pre-slotted fingerboard we'll fret ourselves).
Here are the spacings on the D-19 I was thinking of stealing (it has a scale of 25 3/4) ...
Nut - 5/16ths between strings and 1/8 between edge strings and edge of the nut/neck (hope that makes sense)
Saddle - 7/16ths between strings and 1/4 inch between outside strings and edge of saddle bone. The saddle wood base sticks out 2" past the edge of the bone part.
What should I do?

Thanks, man. I think I will try to copy it to see what happens! I can will always build another one! Love your guitars, BTW, Wichita.

sounds good....
if you are going to play slide only you really don't have to space the strings wider at the tail... I tend to space stuff a little wide since I have fat fingers.... but if you have something you like, by all means copy it....
