Cheese, Pirates and sailors made buttons out of dried up old cheese, I tried it once, being a fan of pirates, and a small piece of swiss got pretty hard, but was always a little oily, lol. That couldn't be more of topic.
But you DID get quite a following. Mostly from rodents, though.

I went down to a local custom kitchen workshop and picked up a bucket of corian for free. Corian is used to make countertops, and comes in a bunch of colors. I liked the antique ivory, but you could go wild. I don't know what color soapstone you have, but you can find marble or malachite corian.
