  • The biscuit / bridge is carbon fiber as is the neck reinforcement. I purchased it from Forbidden Guitars. The box is a solid mahogany gun display box that measures 7-3/4 in. by 13-3/4 in.

I'm gearing up to attempt my first build and yours is similar to what I want to do. I have a few questions. What did you use as the biscuit/ bridge? I intend to order a cone from Old Lowe also. What are the dimensions of your box> Also, have you put up sounds samples anywhere. That thing is AMAZINg and I'd love to hear it.

  • Hey, John! The video you were looking for on how to spin your own reso cones was by Roosterman and can be found here: Rooster's spinning cones

He uses aluminium, not copper. The copper cones didn't work.

I have no pics of the inside unfortunately and I sealed it shut. The resonator is from Old Lowe who you can friend request on this site. He is a wealth of reso knowledge. The scale length is 20-1/8 in.
  • Go to my page and look at my friends ( all 3 of them ) you will see Old Lowe click on the icon and it will take you to his page.

  • Hey Jason.  Please tell me how to build a resonator.  I started a discussion on this , but not too much response yet.  Do you  have any pics of the inside and resonator.  It really looks great.  What is the scale length?  I usually build concert scale ukuleles.  thanks, john
  • Very nice, great job.
  • Nope. My father had the box in his atic. It is solid mahogany though. so is the neck. The fretboard, coverplate, headstock overlay, heelcap, and little plate where the bribge pins go are from one piece of rosewood. There are alot more pics of it at my page. It is only my 3rd build and I would appreciate any feedback.
