Installing a speaker inside a guitar?

Does installing a small amp and speaker inside a guitar work or does it just cause feed back?

Does using a magnetic pickup make a difference?

Hi Rob,

It works but volume is limited by the speaker size and 9v supply. I have added them to several CBGs and find the piezos do feedback more than a magnetic pup if you try to crank up the volume to full.

I started adding them to the back of the box point towards the sound hole(s)

Due to the small sound generated I have started putting them in the side of the box pointing at my face in the playing position as then I get the max volume.

I like doing it because it does give the electric guitar sound with a magnetic pup.
