Is it possible to make a 4 pole pickup act like a blade style pickup? Could I attach a steel bar across the 4 poles and have the pickup work? I will be using this mag pickup on my 3 string CBG.

On my Stealth build I again sunk a 4 pole mag into the box with the poles extending through the lid. But attached the blade into the fret board extension and made the blade to look like a fret.....

On this build I converted a 6 pole into a 4 string blade pup. Sunk the mag pickup down and used a piece of an allen wrench as the blade. Works awesome !!!!!..

Short answer, yes. The magnets are all oriented the same way. The steel will stick on there and become part of the magnetic flux.
Randy - I love the blade disguised as a fret! What a cool idea!

Since the poles are magnets and the allen wrench carbon steel it just sets there, the wood surround holds the rail in place.
