Hi All,
I just finished a 4 stringer (Posted pics of it this week) where I used the C. B. Gitty black enclosed 4 pole pickup. I am really happy with it. With a 500K volume pot and a 500K linear tone pot, it just screams.
Now I am setting my sights on some six string models and I am looking at the Gitty lineup. In particular I am looking at:
1. Black enclosed Single Coil Magnetic Pickup - 5.68K Ohm
From the rating it appears to be the same pickup as both the Chrome enclosed and the Gold Enclosed pickups.
2. Economy Black and White single coil pickups - 6.7 K Ohm
3. Cream "Soap Bar" P-90 style pickup (no impedance rating given)
4. Lipstick-Tube Pickups (Chrome and gold) 3.73 K Ohm
Can anyone comment on their experiences with any of them.
- Sound - thick versus lighter
- Thickness as for ease of installation (the Soap Bars look thinner on the photos, which would mean I could get away with a lower bridge and hence shallower back angle to the neck)
- Reliability
. Best sized pots for them
- .....
Thanks

I have uses several of the Gitty pickups, and they all sound good, it just depends on what sound you are after.
You may also want to consider a flat pup from Elmar at Klangbox.

Yup. I have been looking at them. They sound super in the videos. I did a 6 string and a 12 string prototype last year. I think I know the changes I want to see happen, but I want to get it right before trying out Elmar's flat pups.
