to my CBN friends,

It's been a while since I posted a "just for me build"... here's WS # 236

first of all, the table is a workbench under construction... 130 year old Ponderosa Pine on top...

Here's the CBG... a 4 string fretted, short (22") scale, with tone and volume control and a "strat" pup.

Close up of body shows an Aluminum channel hardtail... painted top (on box bottom) with acrylic paints. with the hardtail set out in the middle of the box, it has decent acoustic properties.

Neck maple, walnut fretboard, corian nut... quality tuners....

Racing strip theme thru the painted out pickup.... do you think I should try to paint out the hardtail too?

I've basically pulled together all the tricks I know to make a personal guitar for blues/rock performance.  BTW, it has a bolt-on, pocket neck attachment (ala' Fender strat/tele)...

Good sound, will use it in the long program Saturday night.... will post something on it next week..

the best,

Wichita Sam

  • HEy, really nice and seems like it will be a great player. I agree w/Shawn about the pinstripe, but either way , it rocks!
  • Looks nice and clean on the inside as well. How's it sound? The tail stop / bridge should get a polish to give it that hot rod bling look. Keep rocken old school Sam.
  • Sam, looks like a keeper to me, lean and mean.
    Cheers Ron
  • Go, Rev. Octane...go!
  • more pics

Looks good. How about a shot of the inside? Stripes could use a pin strip in black to really make it pop and tie it into the outside lable. Great work as always.
  • Shawn, Here's your pics of the inside....

Totally cool build. I'd leave the hardtail as is. It's the chrome on your hot rod!
