Check the Resources tab for plans, there’s a few Bass plans in there, you can really put weed whacker string on anything & it’ll sound like a bass? E .095 A .080 D .065 G .050
I have something better than a tutorial. I asked Farmer Jon (washtub bass player for Shane Speal) what he uses. He said to get the inexpensive .080 green round wick from Walmart. DO NOT BUY THE OCTAGONAL STUFF IT WILL SHRED YOUR FINGERS.
Anyway, I tried it out and he was right... it works fantastic. Coincidentally, I also tried the .105 wick and it does not sound as good as the .080. I'm not sure why but it's proof Farmer Jon knows washtub basses. LOL.

I build my cbg basses with the same construction details as regular cbg’s, they just have longer scale lengths & bass strings? They sound great & you can really make them in various scale lengths?
