St. Louis MO. CBG Club/Workshop

We are organizing a CBG workshop held one Saturday a month at the 61 roadhouse & kitchen in Webster Groves MO. (St. Louis Area). This is also the home to the St. Louis CBG festival each year.

Bill Kunz of 61 has been generous in offering us a place to meet, practice, discussed ideas and what ever members decide to do with the time. Gary Herget and myself are contacts for this club and are open to ideas to make this a fun club. As soon as we have commitment from members, we can set up a Saturday each month to meet mornings. We haven't set a day or start time as of yet. We need to know who can commit at least to a start up and discuss as a group when and how we want to run this. Possibilities are great!

Just got my wisdom teeth out today. I'm doing far better than expected, but I'm still not sure if I'll be able to come. If I can, I really hope I can have my gas can banjo ready (I've really learned a lot about banjos and how to play them since the last meeting), but I still have to finish carving the heal, inlaying, fretting, and putting it all together and my mother won't let me carve the neck while I'm confined to the couch even if I lay a sheet down :( Anyway, if I'm not there, I think my dad will be so he can tell me all about it. Crossing my fingers that I can make it!

Smilingdog, you said something about wanting to play around with my pedal board. I've taken off the Vox big ben overdrive but can bring that along. Added a Catalinbread 'Dirty Little Secret' and a Electro Harmonix 'Soul Food'.

We have two fellow CBG ers coming to St. Louis in August from France. I like to see if all or part of us can get together with these guys when they show and welcome them properly. TheoMojo and Stimy V Watt are their user names and they are a part of the BSA festival in October over in France where Justin will be. My friend Phil Philly organizer of BSA festival sent us a fine gift for our fest this year so I feel a connection with these guys. I think it would be fun to get to know these guys and what they're up to across the pond.

That would be AWESOME! Do these guys speak English? Hate to shake their hands and say "french fries" cuz that's about all the French I know.

That's a good question. I really don't know because I've never met them. Phil Billy struggles with his translations. However I toured Cicily for 3 months and got by fine not knowing the language. I guess they thought I was inflicted with a speech impairment.

I'm waiting to hear from them if or when they'll arrive and will re post as soon as I hear back.
