  • I saw him last year. He had to play sitting down but his chops were as great as ever. So sorry to see him go. Still, a working musicians life is too filled with distractions of a dangerous type. Hard living takes its toll. Kind of like military men. Its a great job, but they will shoot at you. RIP Johnny.

    • A few years ago about 18 I was at a Johnny Winter show in the courtyard of a hotel and one of his crew walk up to him in the middle of a song and said something to him. Johnny rolled the volume down on his guitar and stopped and so did his band. He said the people in the hotel were complaining about how loud it was and that he could only play one more song and said some words I won't repeat, he was pissed off. It was a loud long song.
