I am about to wire up my most recent build with a single piezo disk. Where is the best spot in the box to put the disk? And, what is the best way to adhere the disk to the box?
I am doing a through neck design similar to the guitar below. On two previous guitars I stuck the disk to the neck (not the box) directly under the bridge. I attached it with silicone adhesive and then I put a layer of silicone over the top of it.
They both sound pretty good (the 2nd better than the first), but is there a better technique that will result in a better sound?

The couple I wired I slide the copper edge of the disc between the neck and top under the bridge w. a hot glue gun and mad sure I put a decent amount of glue on the leads so the wouldn't rip off,and that was pretty much all the glue I used. They sound pretty good.I'm thinking of incasing one between 2 pieces of hardwood, but haven't got to wiring my latest.
Mine lives under the bone and wood bridge.
most recommend under the bridge, though experiment if you like it's easy to do, I sandwich the piezo between two pieces of soft Velcro to reduce the sharpness and microphonic effects and this works pretty well, I cut a circular slot in the neck under the bridge and place the piezo inside . (-:
Each guitar has a happy spot and each person has a way to incase the disk and attach. I like to put the disk on long leads and try a few different spots. I use double sided sticky foam, some times on the pickup side. I have been leaning toward mag pickups.
not really..lol
seems by your results the next will be better than the last...
