Hey guys, I had a new idea for an accompaniment setup.
Rhythm section idea: A foot driven crank triggers 2 drumsticks (one on the down stroke, one on the up stroke of the foot) to hit a tom and a tambourine, as well as a washboard (on both the up and down stroke).
What do you guys think? I won't be able to try it any time soon, so anyone thats interested, feel free to use it.

It reminds me of a Rube Goldberg idea I was kicking around a couple of months ago.
It would be a mainspring and clockwork gear kind of a thing for my backpack drum rig. Your feet would work the escape mechanism in the way that a pendulum does in a clock.
then you could drive multiple actions just by engaging the proper gear - only utilizing the back and forth movement of left foot/ right foot.
Lets say you were playing in 4/4 time - you could have the proper gear ratios to trigger say the base drum on the 1 beat - and a snare drum on 2, 3 and 4.
I understand the concept - but it's a little too ambitious for me at this stage of life. Maybe when I'm retired . . . .
Probably have to seek out a clockmaker for technical advice. ha-ha.
