Add a pickup and run it through an amp. Instant loud. Just a thought.
aaahhhhhhh thought of that and done it i dont know i just wanted to make it better somehow but as i say i think im gonna just leave it be
Also, don't forget that you can connect boxes horizontally as well-I have a lot of suboptimal boxes that would go to waste otherwise joined side to side to make one ribbed chamber.once the multistage soundbox is complete it's pretty easy to trace on some 1/8" birch for a snug-fitting face...
i didnt make it i bought it it was my first cbg so after thinking about it im going to leave it i might string it higher
I did this with 2 macanudo box's. Stacked them to make a nice 3" deep box. I cut open the bottom of one and the top of the other. It worked but not noticably enough. I don't think you will really hear a difference. If you like the way it sound leave it alone and build another one.
If you do make a stacked box make sure the top and bottom side walls are connected really well so they transfer the vibrations to the bottom.
Not sure if tapping on the box will tell you much about the loudness of it. Give it a try, can't hurt to have 2 cbg's.
thanks for that and i think i will take your advice and leave it i have others anyway i just havnt played it in ages and thought i know what ill make it deeper
Seems like it would work. Maybe try it with another box as a test first, so you don't make your mistakes on a box you like...
good point taken thanks ill check to see how much i can get a la rica box should only be a few quid on ebay and put the extension on test how loud the difference is by taping it before putting the neck on
thanks again
