Hi Guys,
Probably dumbass question and more than likely covered before... but...
hole drilled for volume pot... fits fine... but the little 'v' like hook that juts out parallel to the threads is stopping the pot falling flush with the lid. Do I make a little nick in the lid to make the pot run flush?
Cheers guys,
Col

It's OK Colum, we know. What you see happening here is all of us working out the frustration. See we've all known about these tabs. Some of us for years. Yet we STILL forget about them. Go to put a pot on and %$#@&^*.... have to take it back off and start over.
So the theory of evolution is wrong. It wasn't the egg, it was the shoe...... but where did boots come from? The mysteries of life are never ending!
Thanks everyone for all your input. I think I know what to do.
Many thanks.
Col
The little hook you describe is designed to fit in Telecaster control plates, leave it on and drill a little hole for it in the underside of your box lid, it will make the pot sit much more firmly and will not come loose or turn. (-:
Heh, right..
And our species evolved feet so we'd have something to put in all the shoes that were just lying around...
...Sometimes..! ;-)
lol
I've changed out plenty of pickups and pots in the last 20 or so years. i don't ever recall those tab things actually being used by anyone. Perhaps if you were using a circuit board it would come in handy,
Like PK said... only useful in a metal chassis... hmm... I think I have an old gallon gas can somewhere...
