First Annual Sunny California VIRTUAL CBG & Roots Music Fest ~ February 2nd until ????

You, my friends are cordially invited  to the First Annual Sunny California VIRTUAL CBG & Roots Music Fest

(Note: as used here, virtual means IMAGINARY).

This is a potluck meal, so please bring a covered dish.  If you can, bring a signature dish from your region, such as fried okra from the American south, tortillas from Mexico, sweet corn from Iowa, Fish and Chips from the U.K.  and Vegamite sandwiches from Australia.

Please RSVP and tell us what vehicle you will be driving and what snacks you are bringing.   Air Force One takes up a lot of space.  There will be limited parking for air craft.   There is plenty of boat and submarine parking, but it is first come first serve.  We have room for over 100 buses.  We've been told to expect busses from Canada, Mexico, Australia, Holland and the U.K.  We hope the U.K. folks will drive at least one of those double decker busses.

Activities include: continuous open mike in several different areas. Vendors. Submarine races.  Disc Golf Tournament.   Largest and smallest fish contest at the fishing event .  Nude beach.  Regular beach.  Disco.  The grand opening of the west coast branch of Uncle John's Pawn shop (free corn dogs to the first 500).  Ugly dog contest at 4 pm.  Goat Rope Rodeo at 5 pm.   And MANY MORE.

Please RSVP.  ASAP.  WTF.

Hobo Wes update:  I got an email from Wes from a library in southern Illinois where he stopped to change trains, use the computer and warm his bones.  He said he thinks he can make it to Iowa in time to ride the Fuzzy Slipper Band's Bus to California Fest!

Cool, Wes.   I'm virtually looking out the back window at the chicken house.  Can't see you, but some sumbeetch threw an empty gin bottle in the yard.  Be right out.

ok, I left a few days ago, but I'll be dog gone I haven't a clue if I'm getting close, I'm outta barley pop, I had to fight off this big 400+ lb. kitty Kat with my cbg, now it's all clawed up, and what the heck are those long neck things, are they native to Californy?....I might be late :-(

Richard, are those long necked dogs in front of the balloon going to be in the ugly dog contest?   Hope you make it man or at least have a good trip.  Quite a few of us have somewhat shaky transportation.

Fest concierge, Richard Head Sundberg, (call him Rich or Richard, but not Dick) is doing a fine job and keeps adding events!   There will be a Hangover Special Trap and Skeet Shoot at the nude beach at 0800 Pacific time on Saturday the third- shooters and participants may be clothed, but if clothed, must be off the beach by 1000.

Old CBN friends Grandpa and Clock are holding a wine and cheese tasting event all day Friday the second.

Erasmo, Pick and the Canadians plan a hockey rink and Canadian beer concession and will be serving moose burgers and caribou cheese burgers.  Sound good, eh?   Get on the stick and stop by.

It seems like quite a few of you must work for a living so Rich plans to close out the fest with a Super Bowl party ending PROMPLTY at midnight Sunday.

Talk about good luck and good timing! Wes Carl got off a Morton Salt Box car in Denison, Iowa (only 25 miles from me) and walked over to the Casey's convenience store and up pulled Dave Lynas in the white 92' Ford Bronco! The guys are here with me now and as soon as Wes showers we are taking off with Kevin Patrick as designated driver! Whoo hoo! Next stop, Nebraska to pickup Maddog who is bringing 5 gits and 2 monstrous amps.

Inventory: Bus capacity 36. (the walk in cooler takes a lot of space). 22 passengers counting MD – well, 28 counting the six dogs for the ugly dog contest. A big box of drivers, putters and mid distance discs for the frisbee golf tournament. 13 shotguns and my Taurus Judge for the Nude Beach Trap Skeet Shoot. 49 gits. Twenty some amps. 6 five gallon cans of gas (be careful with those cigars, you guys). Four dozen glazed douhnuts and two dozen with sprinkles. 23 Iowa Pine scented Christmas tree shaped air fresheners and the on bus two holer out house ( do not use when the bus is stopped).

Destination one: Tijuana, Mexico for Dos Equis and Modello beers and some of the parrot heads want Corona. Corona is not a bad choice for the beach.

Destination two: Sunny California Fest (or bust)

Thought I was getting back on track....on the positive side, my refreshments are definitely staying cold, that last guy did it in what-80 days, I'll be lucky if this thing just doesn't spring a leak.

Oh wow, hmmm, found some instructions on how to fly this thing...whats a rudder?

Richard, you made it to Iowa!  Try to find some west bound air currents.   I hate rude behavior in a bartender.  A rudder is the bar tender who is rudder than some other bar tender.

We made it to Donner Pass and the Bronco broke down.  We'd been running the bus engine to keep warm and now we are out of gas, out of food, out of drink and SOL.  I'm one of the plumper people here and I DO NOT like the way people are looking at me.

Well, if I can help I will, I got back on track and I'm not far from you, over here at Donner Lake, I ran out of food as well, so I'm trying my luck at a little fishing, if I catch a few, I'll do a fly by and drop some fish from the sky, but I'm not landing only to be added to the menu lol. If you need gas, I might have a couple cans of beans left, that's the best I can do.

We can see you!  Please do drop beans.  And if you can spare a few fish, please clean them and cook them in the balloon flame.  Wait, Wes likes sushi, so save one raw???  Oh, do you have any 9 volt batteries and Gray Poupon?  Tarter sauce?

Richard, I feel bad abandoning these guys, but when you get to know em, well, Wes, Maddog and Dave Lynas can really grate on your nerves.  I am too old and fat to climb a rope.  Do you have a rope ladder you can drop to me?  I will help you go for help.

Thanks, Milt. And God bless our boys in blue.

Sorry, had to take off sudden like, fish too big, and he got a hold of my steering device, good luck
