Canjo(e) question?

I want to make a canjo(e) so I can make custom labels for the cans but have never seen one close up - Is there a bridge in the can that the string goes over that holds the can down on the stick? Any helpful comments are appreciated - D Brooker

  • You might want to check out the Cigar Box Nation (CBN) discussion group called the "Can Jo Consortium" . I also have this diagram I did a year ago:

  • All, I have made Google SketchUp plans for a canjo based on the plans I saw from the Herschel Brown video and the jpeg plans below. They are going to be posted on my page and are freely available. Please visit the page to get the file. You must have the freely available Google SketchUp to open the file with.

  • This seems like more of a dulcimer with a tin can resonator than an canjo. Intriguing design, nonetheless.
