Buzz with Volume Pot

I've used a volume pot on my last 2 builds. In both cases, I get a slight buzz/hum in the background at all levels except high. Once I crank up the volume, it goes away (without playing strings). Any thoughts?

    What kind of pickup are you using ? magnetic or Piezo - if its a magnetic pickup it needs to be grounded as does your bridge and or strings

    Sounds like a ground issue to me...

    I had this same problem on my first, and so far, only, build. I don't know if it was a coincidence, but when I moved my piezo further away from the volume pot, the problem went away. You may look at the placement of your pickup.
