AGP #445 - “Humidor 1”
3 String String Fretless Cigar Box Guitar
This 235 x 215 x 60mm Cigar Box Humidor is the first of 3 recent Ebay purchases I picked up for less than $15 each delivered, they usually sell for a minimum of $50 each, I think the seller made a mistake in his pricing, and very soon took them off their site after I bought them. They were marketed as being made of Cedar Wood, but after cutting the Neck Slot, drilling the Jack, Vol, Tone holes, and the Pup recess, discovered that it was actually very thin Cedar Veneered Compressed Cardboard, but having said that, the finished build sounds mighty damn fine.
The Neck is White Mahogany (Eucalyptus acmenoides.), also known as Yellow or White Stringybark, the Fretboard is Radiata Pine, both coated with a Cedar Stain and Wipe on Poly, a “3.8k Gitty Flat Mount Humbucker” is wired through a B250K Vol Pot, and a A500K Tone Pot with a .0047uf Ceramic Capacitor to the Output Jack. :-)
