This was my first busk of the year! I went to test out my wrist having had a steroid injection three weeks before for De Quervain's tenosynovitis (inflammation of the tendons that run between the wrist and the thumb) I decided to limit myself to fifteen songs, but take my time so it wouldn’t feel like such a short busk.
I was a bit nervous after such a long break and very rusty. I ran through each song in my head before playing it, and also stopped to chat as long as people wanted, so it took me just over 2 hrs to get through the songs. It was great to be out there playing music in the sun again, but my wrist didn’t hold up well at all. Very frustrating!!
I was also testing out my Zoom Q2N outside for the first time. I think it’s much better out there with brighter light. I’m also pleased with the sound. I had the camera on a selfie stick which was clamped to the handle of my busking trolley, so that it was out in front of the amp. I like how much it got in with the wide angle.
The only problem was that the display screen is very small, so what with that and the bright light on it, and me not having any glasses with me, it was very difficult to see much. I could just about see the mike stand was in it, but afterwards realised I could have had it pointing lower so that it would have captured more of the people walking by. Next time I’ll take my glasses!
I’m playing a three string Cigar Box Guitar and a Canjo, made from a can of Tesco’s chopped tomatoes, both of which I made myself. The loop pedal is an Electroharmonix 22500.

Wonderful to see you out there Bee. Hope you can manage the wrist thing. Your rig is tasty! Good camera.

Thanks AGP, yes it was a beautiful day, which is partly what made me get out and busk rather than doing some much needed practice first! Ha, yes it was an effect called delay at the end there, not the camera playing up.Get out there and try yours out : -) Worth checking with your doc about your thumbs...

Great to see you back out on the street busking 'B', particularly under a very clear blue sky, a nice combination of tunes on both instruments, the colours from the Zoom Q2N really come through outside, something I still haven't done with mine yet!, I'm guessing the blurry images towards the end are an effect of some kind ??.

Hadn't heard of De Quervain's tenosynovitis until now, I suffer from similar symptoms in the thumb area of both hands, which I always put down to Arthritis and wear and tear from spending 40 yrs with a brick in one hand and a trowel in the other, so will now be asking my Doc and Physiotherapist a few questions about De Quervain's tenosynovitis.  :-)

Thanks John. I wasn't very relaxed at first, but soon got used to it again. I hope my thumb listens to you!!

It's nice to get up this morning and hear such happy sunshine busking.  Sounding good and seeming relaxed.  I say to the thumb, "HEAL".

thanks a lot. Hope I can get back to more busking while the weather is warm. Back to the physio now for advice...

Love it. Very raw and real musicmaking. I like how you edited the video. That one lady seemed genuinely interested. I agree that tilting the camera down would've captured more of the crowd. A great video all the same. Keep busking.
