Whisky-box guitar

Well, to start a new year (and decade) I made this 2 stringed one. It can be called a canjo, but it's rather a cbg made by a can. When I was looking for a can to make a normal canjo, I found this Ballantines box, of course with no any bottle inside. The shape and size forced me to build the neck this way, and the result is acceptable enough for me. Made a small documentation with pics of the process here (in hungarian, sorry, but questionings can ask a translation from me): http://www.tabulatura.hu/blasius/canjo/index.htm

  • On this whiskey-bottle-can originally, there were two lids, top and bottom. The bottom lid became the string support and the rear end of the "corpus" (or the body, sorry, in Hungarian we call the instrument body 'corpus', but not 'corpse', of course:-) ) - while the top lid was removed, so that the sound can get out from the resonator can. On the top lid there was an imitation of a bottle cap, a short tube, but - I think - this material is too weak to cut, it may be deformed easily. Thus I removed the whole lid, leaving free its oval upper part. ... I send a photo where the body can be seen.
