Well I got my Keni Lee Burgess CD, Bottleneck Blues Guitar a couple days ago and this is the first thing I have learned off of it. My daughter recorded me with my iPhone. I have been building these for awhile and am glad I can start to play something finally.

  • After a few more day's of practicing, I will brave trying to record the whole song with all the substitution's.
  • Thanks, Jim. My son is a pretty good guitar player and it inspired me to learn, I have taken some lesson's and learn from the internet and of course CD's or DVD's. From Keni's CD I have been working mostly on my 6 string but it hasn't been hard so far to apply it to a CBG. It's a good thing my CBG sounds decent acousticly cause I dont think I placed the piezo in the best spot. It's on the neck under the bridge and pick's up too much noise from the neck.
  • I love this song, it is one of my favorites. I am in the same shoes as you, I am more of a builder than player. I also use Keni's videos and methodology, actually I include one of his cd's with each CBG I sell. Nice sounding build BTW...
  • Thanks, Keni. It's coming, slowly but surely.
  • Very fine start. Continue forward with the lessons, but return to this song from time to time. As you continue to practice, your skills will improve. Continuously practicing a song over time will build a familiarity that will make your performance sound very natural. As you can relate, you are not completely comfortable yet. Once the song is truly your own, other songs will be easier to learn too. Thank you for your purchase and promoting my CD with your video. Please feel free to write if you have any questions. Enjoy.
  • Jon's learning through osmosis! I wonder, how many of us are picking out the same tunes sitting at home? Keni Lee has shaped a new wave of pickers...
  • Thanks for the kind comments guys!
  • Pretty good. You'll get nothing but better. Good tone on that box.
  • Bravo! Nice CBG too.

I picked up that CD too - I obviously need to work on it some more because just sitting it on my desk hasn't been helping my playing ability much. :)
