I bought like a dozen of these star wars cans to make instruments out of to sell... thinking ~$35 each
Is basically a canshin with the form factor of a canjo. The sound is partly sawari from the size of the holes in the bridge/soundpost the strings pass through, the lack of nut leaving the string to vibrate a little in the ~1/2" slot at the top, and a ~3" spring attached between the soundbridgepost and the bottom of the can...
I am totally digging it myself, it sounds more amazing than I anticipated...

That has a peaceful pleasing sound. Kind of exotic too.
