  Uncle John, Thanks for the comments!  It's designed to tune exactly like the 1.2. 3rd string of a standard guitar, but it really shines when it's put in open tuning, much like cigar box guitar.  Normal 6 string guitar is tuned GBE (strings 4, 5, and 6), but this tuning is done by raising the second string a half strep so the resultant tuning is GCE.  With that tuning it's dead easy to plaqy and hard to do anything that sounds to far off.  I've got several  videos I want to do that show this instrument being played in various styles.  I just have to sit down and do 'em!!!
