  •  Thanks , Whiteowl !!    Yes , very brown for Iowa .  Worse drought here for around 50 years .

  •  Thanks for the comment , Diglydog .  Thanks for sharing your stories , Oily and Vinylhed .  I just worked on the farm until I was 18 . Then I went off to college in Fort Dodge , Iowa before moving to Colorado .  There wasn't any work for me on the farm and no part of it is mine . It has been leased out for about the last 20 years , except for 10 acres where the house is ( the part I view as "the farm") .    Vinylhed , sad to hear that in the UK you can relate to this story .    Oily , great  Thomas Jefferson reference !!  Most people know nothing about the early debate of a country based on individuals and  agriculture or a country based on industry .

  • Emotive and authentic. I am inspired by people like you, and have the utmost respect for the farming communities. I grew up in rural Yorkshire, where I did my fair share of potato picking when I was a kid, but many of my farming friends are finding it harder and harder to make ends meet. The large supermarkets have been colluding to fix prices for the produce they buy from farmers, but on the up side there has recently been a popular campaign in the UK to pressure supermarkets to pay a fair price for milk.

Anyway, I wish you all the best, and hope you'll find time to post some more songs of this quality in the future.
