Took build #15 to the local music store to try plugging it in to their gear. One of the staff was shredding on a Les Paul and set it down to take a look at the CBG. I handed it over, and he set to work on it, and I grabbed some video while he was at it. I certainly love watching talented people riff on something I created myself!

  • Tasty licks! Got a nephew his age same deal, into metal but takes to any instrument like a fish to water. Got to get these kids interested enough to dabble in the blues and CBG world.

  • Great!

  • YEP AWSOME GREG...........THANKS FOR POSTING IT..........

  • Thanks, Greg.   We will hope for him.    I give him respect and appreciation for giving the CBG a go.

  • Cool ! A while back I went into a local music store and was talking with a young guy who worked there. I told him I'd been building cigar box guitars and he said he'd like to see one. I had one in the truck so I brought it in the store to show him. I sat down and played a little blues and when I finished the place was quiet and when I looked up everyone in there was staring and smiling at me. I'm still not sure if they liked it or thought was crazy ... LOL !!!

  • Neat-O!

  • @Uncle John: This kid is a virtuoso on electric guitar. He picks up a standard strat or les paul off the rack and pulls insane licks off it, then points out about six things that could use improvement. Which you figure is BS, until he wanders over to one that is set up "properly" (for his style) and then it's KATIE BAR THE DOOR!!!

It's almost a shame he's so into death metal, but when he grows into some blues or jazz he will be a force to be reckoned with....

  • Sounds great.  I love to hear people play my stuff and at the same time, when somebody has never played a cbg and plays it that well..... I kind of feel untalented too.

  • kewl!

  • I recently got to see a lead singer/guitarist of a local band use one of my guitars at a gig. What a cool feeling!
Your guitar sounds awesome and the salesman seems to really enjoy it!
