Cover of a Levon Helm song on home made 4 string git-fiddle and Iowa Sax.Oh the poor old dirt farmer,He lost all his corn. And now there's no money topay off his loan.He lost all his corn,Can't pay off his loan.He lost all his corn. Now the poor old dirt farmer,he's left all alone. His wife and his children theypacked up and gone.Packed up and gone,They packed up and gone.Well the poor old dirt farmer, he can't grow no cornHe can't grow no corn cause' he ain't got a loanHe ain't got a loan.He can't grow no corn.He can't grow no corn.

I recognize this guy, but who’s the guy in the hat? It’s the small things you do Uncle that shows your professionalism! Like having what appears to be a rocking chair near by in case you need a break. Your gearing up for a possible headliner soon it seems, because your smooth and in excellent form! I really like Levon Helm, the guy in the hat knocked it out of the park!
RTZ, thanks so much for noticing. Yup on the cut arms from anyone who ever de-tasseled, hoed, or picked corn. Kind of a funny thing, RAGBRAI is the big bike ride across Iowa attended by as many as 20-30K people from all over the U.S. and world. One legend is that the bike ride is held in July so that the corn is high enough for the riders to go in and, ahem, use the facilities. Watch your step, someone may have preceded you.
That's a nice enhanced ass you got there. Is that the Iowa state anthem. Reminds me of when my arms would be cut up from running through the corn stocks and fighting in the cattails. Thanks
Dave, I am late to the party, but Levon is a new fave of mine. This song was a little tricky to learn and it takes a lot of wind on the first line of each verse and on harp. A lot of the song seems borrowed from 'Jack of Diamonds'.
I have a long hard time learning new songs Uncle. I’ve got the words to Dirt Farmer written out but I never worked at learning it. I love it though. Levon Helm is a favorite.

Danny, I do too. Most of us do. Good to have some humor about it. Thanks, buddy.
I feel like that poor old dirt farmer sometimes, great job Unc
Ha ha., Rich. The hat guys thank you. Santa Lynas did amazing things with the mule man.

Thanks, Bear. Hoppy New Year to you and Dani and that fine tri-cone bone.
That poor old dirt farmer! I think we ought to all chip in and buy him some corn. Should start a JustGiving page.
