  • Well, if you want a kewl little stocking stuffer, E-bow makes a good 'un:

  • Thanks South Paw.

Ron, I'd never heard of an Ebow.  That would save me some hammering, but if I turn the amp up to 4 or 5 then I get enough activation of the strings just from the speaker tones resonating in the box.  The 2nd lowest string, D is particularly active and it must be very close to the natural resonant frequency of the box.  The low G string will also feedback quite quickly between C and D.

I had some fun this morning using the switch in conjunction with the tapping.  Switching between neck and bridge when playing bass and treble strings, respectively, provided some nice variation.  I could probably do with swapping out the b and d strings for a heavier gauge for this type playing.  I'm using Super Slinky strings so 32-9.

  • You need to try that with an E-bow, Eric.
  • Chilling mate. Nice ;-)

  • I was trying to channel a swampy Tommy Thayer.  Not sure if I got close, but I was happy with the outcome.

  • Thanks Jim!  I know what to do if I get another Bad Finger on my right hand!  These Les Paul style humbuckers I got are great.  Master volume was at 2 and my wife sent me a text from upstairs that just said "ENOUGH!"  hahahahaha!

  • Sounds great Eric. The way I use a Sawzall I might have to learn how to play one handed.

  • Just making it up as I go along! It does sound good acoustic, but plugged in is just too tempting.
  • Cool, I really like the sound of your Box and the way you sustain the notes your are playing. Way to go man!

  • Thanks Ted!
