  • Hey Johnny! The scale is 25.5 and you really have to stretch the pinkie to play it like a mandolin. The neck is reinforced with a non-adjustable truss rod from StewMac. I used the individual tuners (Gotoh) because I thought they would look/fit the instrument better since the neck was long. Wanted to make it using a 20 inch scale, but the guy I built it for wanted it 25.5 scale. Ask more questions if you wish.
  • Beautiful instrument. A brilliant encore for #1. I have an OM next on my to-do list. I gotta have the details: What scale length? Did you have to reinforce the neck? It looks like you are using single tuners instead of A-style plate tuners, is that quality/cost decision? I’ll limit it to just those three questions. Again, great job!
  • really nice, man. like your playing too.
  • WOW! Very nice.
  • Man, that is a good sounding and beautiful octave mando.
  • What a great job Ronnie!!!
  • Real nice build. Lovely tone. I love the mandolin sound, but I just don't know how you boys play with those short nuts. I like my nuts long, 1 7/8" I need some finger room. (Sounds like a funny double entendre converstaion! LOL) Thanks for sharing. Enjoy.
