Thanks Ted and Ron. It is amazing to me how different guitars "like" to play such different music. I'm still monkeying around trying to find the best voice for this one. It is a really nice tone with the resonator and nickle wound strings. If I'm careful I can pluck only one of the paired strings and it is another dimension with the sympathetic vibrations in the unplucked pairs. Alternating between plucking individuals vs pairs makes for interesting combinations.
I am think a reso is much less forgiving for errors, but totally doable. You get no float in the scale length! The bridge and nut are fixed position. The action is pretty easy to dial in if you leave the saddle tall and profile it slowly to finish.
Beautiful work and components. Love that shaped neck and wood, just as it is. Wow, does that thing sound great. Nice playing too. Pat yourself on the back for this one, Eric.

Turtlehead, the other reso is next. It is looking really good with a distressed box. The neck carving is almost done.
