My brief version of “Keep Your Lamp Trimmed and Burning” using the “KISS Principle” (Keep It Simple Stupid). One Part Unplugged Acoustic the other through my Roland Micro Cube.No prizes for guessing who the 300th of my builds, an “Iowa LPG” called “UJ”, was named after, also thought this Gospel Blues tune was appropriate for the Singin’ Preacher from Ogden. It should played at a slower Tempo, I tried but the Ham Fists must have warmed up in the hot weather we’ve been having lately, and I couldn’t slow them down!Cheers to old my Mate ‘UJ’, a true “Cigar Box Nation Legend”:-)

  • "Thanks Rick", I use the "KISS" principle all the time, because the complicated Solo's and Finger Chords etc., are well beyond my "Ham Fisted " capabilities!  :-D

  • KISS usually works out best without complicating the true essence of a musical thought. Like I know what I’m talkin! Nice tones coming out of the Iowa 75, both ways! Sliding with the preacher!

  • "Thanks Buggy"   :-)

He made the night a little brighter
    Wherever he would go

The old lamplighter of long long ago

  • "Thanks Nancy Kat", the Snowy Feline seems approve of the clear sound!, and does Dave Lynas know you have his "MaHotMa Lamp" ?? Lol  :-D

  • 3724782892?profile=RESIZE_710xMmm both sound good #AGP! Nice cube it really puts out a clear sound I think I like it best! Fast is good to....Meeowww^..^

  • "Thanks UJ", the honour is all mine!, and yes slowing down when playing is something I'm not all that good at, but not sure if its a good or bad problem.

Yes!, Dave is right about the subtleties of the Cube, like a lot of things in life, sometimes less is better, just enough gain to get some volume on the JC Clean setting and that's it!

At 50F I'd be sitting in front of a heater wrapped in a blanket, I'm a bit of a sook when it comes to the chilly weather, Pizza and Ron's Martin Dread, sounds like a great way to pass away a bit of time, I'm jealous! :-)

  • "Thanks Dave & Clarky", the Cube is one of the many Amps I have scattered around me, its only a little critter, but has a big voice, don't use the distorted settings much, but find the cleaner ones a real treat!.  :-)

  • That LPG has pretty good acoustic sound.  Good name for an Iowa LPG.  I am honored.  Very good playing.   I sense that you are like me.  You want to go at slower pace and somehow we go faster.

Ohhh.   Even better plugged in.  Hunh.   Dave may be right on the subtleties.

I can almost get my shorts out today.  Warm- 50 F 10 C. Got my buddy Ron coming up for music and pizza.  He's bringing a big old Martin Dread.  Thanks for showing those Cube amp settings.
