hey guys, and thanks for tuning in!i'm officially declaring the eye-bolt tuned, sideways "cutless" head design as my standard. i've built several guitars with eye bolts now, and it gets easier every time. they're far easier to use than zither pins, and can be tuned by hand, rather than a finicky and very specific wrench.at just under $1 per tuner, and available and almost any store that carries hardware (i think i could even find all the parts in a walmart or kmart), i feel that the advantages far outweigh the difficulties in use. i only wish i'd have tried this six years ago, back when i began fiddling with this stuff!!!the neck setup is a tried and true method that is so easy to build and employ that i would have a hard time justifying the extra time spent on a more complicated build. the neck is the whole instrument, and is built on its own. then it can be bolted down to any body one likes, and swapped at will.next i will begin "finishing" my guitars, properly sanding and staining them for longevity. more on this to come.stay tuned for my next video where i'll be demonstrating this latest guitar with a cover song. after that, i'll be on to an instructional video for the installation and setup of eye bolt tuners!i have also received a request to do a video for zither pin tuners, so keep an eye open for that as well.thanks for all the support guys, and keep the comments coming - i can't wait to see what you all build and play next!!!!

no, i don't make any cuts to shallow out the wood beneath the play area. of course, i also do not use frets, i play with slide only. i set my action nice and high, so i can play nice and deep with the pick without striking the edge of the wood when i strum.

sorry that it took so long to respond to your question!!!!!

and i plan to make a video of my eye bolt tuners soon. keep an eye open!

if i were to start fretting the neck, i would probably have to make a lot of changes to make it work, but i'm not worried about it yet.
  • that is incredibly cool!! I would love to see a video on the tuners. Do you cut out any part of the neck to make strumming it easier?
  • Congratulations on your gig. A one hour build? Maybe I COULD do that.
  • wow really nice.........One Hour OMG !!!
  • one hour!?! well done selling it at the gig
