Randy, a Dremel that close to my birdseye maple or old growth walnut scares the shit out of me. I have screwed up more than one fretboard with power tools :)

That same idea with the nippers was done by jim frets years ago...he might still have some vid`s on youtube. You should check him out....he was building bad ass homemade guits when we were all youngins.

well since i do 95% of my custom work with a dremel it`s a no brainer to use it for dressing frets.

I use a diamond disc on my dremel , cuts the fretwire at an angle plus i can use the surface of the disc to fine sand the end of the fret.
